The Giraffe

the-giraffe

Hugging my Gestalt Psychotherapist Goodbye

I give you a candle

In exchange for switching on my inner flame

When I had no fuel

Left

Like a long legged Giraffe stuck in a hole

No way to climb out

You took out your psychic shuffle

Used the energy of the swirling dervishes

Careful not to dig too steep of a slope

Promising not re-traumatise me

I feared my legs wouldn’t be able for the climb

Turned out the way

You turned me back in the way

You helped my shadow dance

Like a Sufi Silhouette

Towards the sunlight

I wobbled lankily on all fours back to the surface

On solid ground now

I Go on
Tears
Turn to
Smiles
Turn to
Laughter
Turn to
Love.
