“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.” ― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

So many of us find solace, meaning and support in the pages of a good book. And A Lust for Life’s new book club is a place to celebrate this, so we can share books which have helped us along the way, and to share our thoughts, reflections and ideas about books we read and love.

We know reading can help with relationships, has been reported to help some people with anxiety and depression, and some studies even show you can live longer by joining a book club, so what are you waiting for?

But wait – we know. You are too busy to commit to monthly meetings… or you’re nervous to join a public book club… or you maybe aren’t up for going to meet a whole lot of strangers after a long day at work. It can be daunting at first. But our book club is different. You get to enjoy the benefits of a group – getting to know new books, meeting new people, holding you to a ‘reading deadline’ – but without a big time commitment.

We shared an article last week inviting people to vote on their preferred book – and the results are in…. almost 150 of you voted, and we hope all of you will read the book, and join us for a cup of tea and a chat about it from the comfort of your own favourite reading chair.

The book we’re reviewing for our inaugural A Lust for Life Book Club ISSSS….
